Account Registration & Security

To use Recofrend, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information, including a valid phone number for verification.

You are responsible for:

• Account Security: Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
• Account Activity: All activities that occur under your account
• Accurate Information: Keeping your account information up-to-date
• Unauthorized Access: Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

User Conduct & Content Guidelines

Recofrend is a community built on trust, respect, and authentic recommendations. We expect all users to follow these guidelines:

Acceptable Use

You agree to use Recofrend only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may:

• Share honest reviews and recommendations about content, products, and experiences
• Upload photos, ratings, and tags to enhance your reviews
• Engage respectfully with other users' content through comments, replies, and reactions
• Follow other users whose recommendations you value
• Invite friends to join the platform and build your network
• Discover personalized recommendations based on your interests and network
• Save and organize content for your personal use
• Share your reviews outside the app with friends and family

Prohibited Activities

You agree NOT to:

• Post Illegal Content: Share content that violates any law or regulation
• Harass or Abuse: Harass, threaten, bully, or abuse other users
• Spread Misinformation: Deliberately post false, misleading, or deceptive information
• Infringe Rights: Violate copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights
• Post Harmful Content: Share content that is hateful, discriminatory, violent, sexually explicit, or promotes illegal activities
• Spam or Manipulate: Send unsolicited messages, manipulate reviews, or artificially inflate engagement
• Impersonate: Pretend to be someone else or misrepresent your affiliation
• Scrape or Bot: Use automated tools to access, scrape, or interact with our services
• Reverse Engineer: Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from our app
• Interfere with Service: Disrupt, interfere with, or impose unreasonable load on our infrastructure

User-Generated Content

Recofrend allows you to create and share reviews, comments, photos, and other content ("User Content").

Your Content Rights

You retain ownership of the content you create and share on Recofrend, including reviews, photos, ratings, comments, and other user-generated content. However, by posting content, you grant Recofrend a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:

• Display, distribute, and promote your content within the Recofrend platform
• Make your public content available to other users, your followers, and in search results based on your privacy settings
• Send notifications about your content to your followers when you choose to share
• Use your content for marketing and promotional purposes (with proper attribution)
• Modify or adapt your content for technical reasons (e.g., formatting, compression, resizing images)

Content Responsibility

You are solely responsible for the content you post. You represent and warrant that:

• You own or have the necessary rights to share the content
• Your content does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws
• Your content is accurate and not misleading

Content Moderation

We reserve the right (but have no obligation) to:

• Monitor, review, and moderate user content
• Remove or hide content that violates these Terms or our community guidelines
• Take action against users who repeatedly violate our policies

Intellectual Property

The Recofrend platform, including its design, features, graphics, code, and content (excluding User Content), is owned by Recofrend Pvt. Ltd. and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, or create derivative works of our platform
• Use our trademarks, logos, or branding without written permission
• Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices

Third-Party Content & Links

Recofrend may display or link to third-party content, websites, or services (e.g., OTT platforms, restaurants, books). We do not control or endorse this third-party content and are not responsible for:

• The accuracy, availability, or legality of third-party content
• The privacy practices or terms of service of third-party websites
• Any damages or losses resulting from your interactions with third parties

Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms and policies.

AI-Generated Recommendations

Recofrend uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to provide personalized recommendations. Our AI analyzes your reviews, ratings, saved content, interaction patterns, followed users, and other account activity to generate tailored suggestions. You understand and agree that:

• Recommendations are Suggestions: AI-generated recommendations are based on your preferences, activity, and network, but are not guarantees of quality or suitability
• Data-Driven: The quality and relevance of recommendations improve as you use the app and provide more data through reviews, ratings, and interactions
• No Liability: We are not responsible if you are dissatisfied with content, products, or experiences you discover through our recommendations
• Continuous Improvement: Our AI algorithms are constantly learning and improving, which may result in changes to your recommendations over time

Monetization & Third-Party Relationships

Recofrend is currently free to use. However, we may generate revenue through various means:

Affiliate Links & Partnerships

Some recommendations or links may include affiliate marketing relationships, where we earn a commission if you make a purchase through those links. This does not affect the price you pay or the integrity of our recommendations, which remain based on user reviews and AI personalization.

Sponsored Content

We may display sponsored posts or promoted content from partners. Sponsored content will be clearly labeled as such to distinguish it from organic user recommendations.

Future Paid Features

If we introduce paid features, subscriptions, or premium services in the future:

• You will be clearly informed of all charges before you agree to pay
• Payments will be processed through third-party payment providers (Apple App Store, Google Play Store, etc.)
• Refunds will be subject to the refund policies of the respective app stores
• We may modify pricing with reasonable notice to existing subscribers

Termination

Either you or Recofrend may terminate your account at any time:

Your Right to Terminate

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon deletion:

• Your personal data will be removed within 7 days
• Your public content may remain visible but will be anonymized
• You will lose access to all saved content and recommendations

Our Right to Terminate

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

• You violate these Terms or our community guidelines
• We suspect fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
• We discontinue the service (with reasonable notice)
• Required by law or court order

Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Service "As Is"

Recofrend is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that:

• The service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
• Recommendations will meet your expectations or be accurate
• Defects will be corrected
• User content is accurate, reliable, or appropriate

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Recofrend Pvt. Ltd., its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill
• Service interruptions or data loss
• User content or third-party conduct
• Your reliance on recommendations or user-generated content

In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (or $100 if you haven't paid us anything).

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Recofrend Pvt. Ltd. and its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

• Your use or misuse of the service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights
• Content you post on the platform

Dispute Resolution & Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of Recofrend shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Bangalore, India.

Before filing any legal claim, you agree to first contact us at support@recofrend.com to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or business practices. When we make significant changes, we will:

• Notify you through the app or via email
• Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
• Give you reasonable time to review the changes before they take effect

Your continued use of Recofrend after the changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you don't agree with the new Terms, you must stop using the service and may delete your account.

General Provisions

• Entire Agreement: These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Recofrend regarding your use of the service
• Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect
• No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be deemed a waiver of such right or provision
• Assignment: You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction
• No Agency: Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship between you and Recofrend

We respect intellectual property rights and expect our users to do the same. If you believe that content on Recofrend infringes your copyright, please contact us at support@recofrend.com with:

1. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed
2. Identification of the infringing material and its location on Recofrend
3. Your contact information (name, address, phone, email)
4. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized
5. A statement that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner
6. Your physical or electronic signature
