Device Permissions
Our app may request the following permissions. You can manage these in your device settings at any time:

- Photo Library: To upload existing photos or videos for your profile or reviews (optional)
- Location: To provide location-based recommendations (optional)
- Contacts: To find and invite friends to Recofrend (optional)
- Notifications: To send you updates about likes, comments, follows, and recommendations
Note: All permissions are optional except for phone verification during signup. You can deny or revoke permissions at any time through your device settings, though some features may be limited.
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Provide our services: Create and manage your account, enable reviews, and facilitate social interactions
- Personalize recommendations: Use your preferences, categories, and location to suggest relevant content
- Build your network: Help you find friends and people with similar interests

We take the security of your data seriously:
- Storage Location: Your data is stored on secure AWS servers in the Asia region
- Encryption: Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS protocols
- Access Controls: Only authorized personnel have access to user data
- Regular Audits: We regularly review our security practices and update them as needed
Your Privacy Controls
You have control over your data and privacy:
- Review Privacy: Choose whether your reviews are public (visible to everyone) or private (visible only to you)
- Profile Visibility: Control what information is displayed on your public profile
- Permission Management: Grant or revoke device permissions through your phone settings
Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your data only as long as necessary:
- Active Accounts: Your data is retained while your account is active
- Account Deletion: You can delete your account anytime by visiting your profile in the app. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed within 7 days
- Anonymized Data: Some aggregated, anonymized data may be retained for analytics purposes
To delete your account: Open the app → Open Hamburger Menu → Access Account Settings → Select "Delete Account"
Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information through your profile settings
- Deletion: Delete your account and associated data
